Dallas To Host Fastest 50 in 2004

Dallas has been named the host city for the second annual Tradeshow Week Fastest 50 gala weekend, scheduled Nov. 12-14.

The event will honor the fastest-growing tradeshows in the United States and Canada. Now in its second year, the Tradeshow Week Fastest 50 recognizes those shows that have established a record of growth over the past three years in net square footage, number of exhibitors and attendance. Along with the weekend event, which will include a black-tie awards dinner, a special issue of Tradeshow Week will highlight the achievements of the owners and managers responsible for the shows' success.

The weekend will include a day of golf ending in an evening reception in the Gardens at Nasher Sculpture Center, as well as a Sunday jazz brunch at an as-yet-undetermined location. The centerpiece of the event will be an executive conference at the Dallas Convention Center, followed by a gala dinner and awards ceremony at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel.

"As part of the selection process, I had the personal honor to meet Mayor Laura Miller, who communicated the importance of the event to Dallas – as well as Dallas' commitment to our industry," said Adam Schaffer, Tradeshow Week publisher, as to the site selection.

The event's founding sponsor, The Expo Group, is joined this year by the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Wyndham Anatole Hotel, Momentum Event Networks, Advanced Tradeshow Technology, the Hyatt Dallas, Adams Mark Dallas, Fairmont Hotel Dallas and the Adolphus Hotel.
