Cygnus Launches Regional Kitchen and Bath Show
By Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 2/16/2004
Cygnus Business Media will launch a new show for the kitchen and bath remodeling market in the Northeast. The show, called the Kitchen & Bath Design & Remodelers Expo, will take place Oct. 19-21 at the Valley Forge Convention Center in King of Prussia, Pa.
Jeff Price, president of Cygnus Expositions, said the show will target homeowners of older properties that would rather makeover kitchens and bathrooms than rebuild. Price said, in places like Florida, "most homes are relatively new. Companies buy a product a hundred times over," unlike the contractors involved in improving existing kitchens and baths who are looking for specialty pieces.
Price expects the event to draw 150 exhibitors and 1,500 attendees over an area of 25,000 to 30,000 net square feet. He chose King of Prussia for the event because of the demographics and because Valley Forge is a privately owned exhibit hall with non union labor.
"We are not positioning it as an event to be competitive with the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show & Conference," noted Price. He added that K/Bis is a national event that rotates to venues across the nation (this year it takes place in early April at McCormick Place in Chicago), whereas his event is meant to remain a Northeast regional event.
