dmg World Media Acquires Outdoors Consumer Shows

dmg world media is acquiring three consumer shows from by British show producer Brand Events.
They include The Vitality Show, a health and fitness event scheduled for March 26-29 at the Olympia Grand in London; The Outdoor Adventure Show, held Feb. 6-8 at the Business Design Centre in Islington; and The Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show, scheduled April 2-4 at NEC Birmingham.
Managers from Brand Events, which operates 10 consumer shows in the United Kingdom, will continue to oversee the two outdoors events through 2007, according to the arrangement with dmg. The Brand Events portfolio features events centered around homes, canoeing, cars, chemistry and mobile technology.
For its part, dmg, which produces more than 300 consumer and tradeshows worldwide, views the acquired Brand Events' shows as an opportunity to expand into additional consumer markets. The company, a subsidiary of the Daily Mail and General Trust, already operates a number of consumer shows in the United Kingdom, including The Daily Mail Ideal Home Show, The Ideal Home Show Scotland, The Autumn Ideal Home Show and The Daily Mail Ski and Snowboard Show.
Brand Events' Vitality Show was launched five years ago and attracted more than 34,000 visitors last year. It is divided into sections for health, beauty, fitness, food, inspiration, spirituality and relaxation.
