By Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 4/19/2004
Education will be the focus at the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Assn.'s 2004 Annual Meeting,June 12-15 in Austin, Texas. The event, themed "Bright Stars in the Lone Star," includes a conference agenda covering topics such as compliance with health care industry codes and federal regulations, Certified Manager of Exhibit standards, housing, ROI measurement and lead management.
Other workshops on the schedule will concentrate on the HCEA's Guidelines for U.S. Healthcare Conventions, health care professionals' exhibiting expectations and best practices, in addition to marketing and promotion sessions.
Attendees can earn credits that apply toward the CME professional designation developed by the Trade Show Exhibitors Assn. and endorsed by HCEA.
Barbara Charbonneau, senior exhibit manager for the American Heart Assn., said she attends the event to learn more about exhibit marketing, and because regulatory initiatives such as the Pharma and AdvaMed codes demand that businesses on both sides of the exhibit aisle keep themselves educated and informed.
Prior to May 11, meeting registration is $545 for HCEA members and $765 for nonmembers. The Annual Meeting also includes an exhibition, where health care exhibit and show managers can browse the latest products and services to make their jobs easier.
