Vacation Expo Changes Boston Venue
By Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 5/10/2004
The New England consumer travel show, Vacation Outlet Expo, is moving from Boston's Bayside Expo Center to the Seaport World Trade Center for its 10-year anniversary in 2005.
The expo, which draws about 300 exhibitors and 20,000 attendees, will take place at the Seaport center Jan. 21-23, 2005. The show is owned by NLG, a Woburn, Mass. company that markets trips to leisure travelers.
Organizers said they were drawn to the Seaport World Trade Center by the recently renovated waterfront, cheaper parking and greater accessibility to major roads. The Bayside offers 240,000 square feet of available exhibit space; the Seaport 120,000 sq. ft.
Vacation Outlet Expo exhibitors include regional and national vacation wholesalers, international tour operators, cruise lines, airlines, hotel and resort companies, government tourism boards, and car rental companies. Exhibiting companies include GWV Vacations, Carnival Cruise Lines, Sandals and Beaches Resorts, Aruba Tourism Authority, Royal Caribbean Intl., Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority and Club Med.
