ConvExx to Produce Two NASCAR Shows
By Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 5/31/2004
ConvExx is organizing a pair of NASCAR Short-Track Racing Summits, the first of which will feature keynote addresses by three-time NASCAR champion Darrell Waltrip and NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France. The two will speak at the Dec. 9-11 event at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. A second summit will be held Feb. 14-16, 2005, in Daytona Beach, Fla., during a series of events in advance of the Daytona 500.
ConvExx expects each of the NASCAR-sponsored summits to attract short-track operators from throughout the nation and other leaders in the motor sports industry. Each summit will feature about 100 exhibitors in 10,000 net square feet of space, said ConvExx Chairman Chuck Schwartz. Exhibiting companies will include equipment and material manufacturers, fencing companies, food and beverage providers, T-shirt and souvenir manufacturers, and makers of timing devices.
Seminars and panel discussions will be complemented by breakout sessions dealing with various issues including marketing, cost containment, sponsorships, rules and inspection procedures.
The NASCAR events are not ConvExx's first ventures into the automotive field. The firm already produces the SEMA Show, owned by the Specialty Equipment Market Assn. and held annually at the Las Vegas Convention Center. There is no connection between that and the NASCAR events however, Schwartz said.
