MATSO to Launch First Web Site in June
By Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 5/31/2004
To increase its visibility and level of service to members, the Major American Trade Show Organizers will launch its first Web site, www.matso.org, in late June. MATSO is an industry organization for show management firms, both association and for-profit, that produce tradeshows of at least 200,000 net square feet.
Meg Ellacott, named MATSO managing director earlier this year, said members will preview the new site, produced in partnership with The Page Group, at the June 22-23 MATSO meeting in Chicago.
Ellacott called the site a tool for getting MATSO information out to members and to the industry in general. In the future, the site will become more interactive, with a list serve, links to members' shows and a way for members to communicate throughout the year, not just at MATSO meetings. "We want it to be something that will help members with their businesses and give them a forum in which to exchange ideas," she said. "We want to improve our effectiveness in the marketplace, and the members will tell me how."
