The Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority has promoted Kevin Cooke from customer account manager for the Las Vegas Convention Center to director of convention services.
The Arlington (Texas) Convention & Visitors Bureau has named Bob Hohenstein vice president of sales, services and marketing. He has worked in various sales positions with Six Flags for the past 25 years.
Don Oswald joins the Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau as a national convention sales manager.
The Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau has made several recent changes to its permanent and volunteer staff:
Restaurateur Phil Stefani has taken over as chairman of the CCTB's board of directors. Stefani, owner of a company that provides food service at Navy Pier, replaces outgoing Chairman Richard Simon, president of United Service Companies.
The board also has named as its treasurer, John Patronski, executive vice president/industry development for GES Exposition Services
Douglas Dvorak has been hired as director of sales. Previously he was sales manager at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
Exhibit ServicesExhibitgroup/Giltspur has promoted Anne Houghton to corporate vice president of design from vice president of design at E/G's Chicago-based office.
MICE North America has opened a new office in Atlanta and hired Jay Subers as vice president of sales. Subers was formerly a senior account executive with PICO in Atlanta.
Show ManagementPostNewsweek Tech Media has hired E. Lorenz Hassenstein as vicepresident, tradeshows. Hassenstein will manage PostNewsweek's events team and portfolio. Most recently, he was industry vice president of Reed Exhibitions.
Hanley Wood Exhibitions has made the following management changes:
- Kent Hudson has been promoted from director of finance to World of Concrete show manager.
- Brock Nemecek has been hired as operations manager for Big Builder. He was previously with The Expo Group.
- Kyle Welch is now controller, after 17 years with Clear Channel Communications.
- Leska Scanio has been promoted from operations coordinator to operations manager of World of Concrete, World of Concrete Mexico and Technology for Construction.
Bob Kelley, formerly group operations director with VNU Expositions, has joined Meeting Consultants, a meeting and event management company, as director of business development.
