Wayne Crawford has joined the National Assn. of Broadcasters as vice president of exhibit sales. Most recently, he served as vice president of sales and marketing at ARI, a registration and lead retrieval provider.
SmithBucklin, which recently took over management of the Center for Exhibition Industry Research, has retained Tracy Nickless as manager, communication and research.
Facility ServicesSeattle-based architectural firm LMN Architects, which specializes in convention center design, has promoted John Chau and Rafael Vinoly from associates to principals.
Craig Liston has been named general manager of the SMG-run Knoxville Convention Center in Knoxville, Tenn. He was formerly general manager of the SMG-run Grand Center Convention Facility and Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.
General ContractorsGES Exposition Services has named Guy Langlais its East Coast director of labor relations, based in New Jersey.
Dave Trybus has joined the Maryland office of Arata Expositions as assistant general manager. He last worked as project manager for a national pool and spa contractor.
Show ManagementPostNewsweek Tech Media has hired E. Lorenz Hassenstein as vice president, tradeshows. Hassenstein will manage PostNewsweek's events team and portfolio as well as contemplate expansion opportunities. Most recently, he was industry vice president of Reed Exhibitions.
Hanley Wood Exhibitions has made several management changes:
- Kent Hudson has been promoted from director of finance to World of Concrete show manager.
- Brock Nemecek has been hired as operations manager for Big Builder. He was previously with The Expo Group.
- Kyle Welch is now controller, after 17 years with Clear Channel Communications.
- Leska Scanio has been promoted from operations coordinator to operations manager of World of Concrete, World of Concrete Mexico and Technology for Construction.
Bob Kelley, formerly group operations director with VNU Expositions, has joined Meeting Consultants, an Atlanta-based meeting and event management company, as director of business development.
Diversified Business Communications has made two new hires.
- Laila Naghib, now marketing manager, was previously with Memberworks of Stamford, Conn.
- P.J. Kennedy, now manager of operations and special projects, was previously with Primedia Business Exhibitions.
Event management firm Conferon Global Services has appointed Peter Shure director of strategic marketing. Previously, he was senior vice president of marketing and member relations for the Professional Convention Management Assn. and associate publisher of Convene Magazine.
