Consultants

PricewaterhouseCoopers has named Chuck Bedsole a director in its hospitality and leisure practice. Bedsole will work out of the Dallas office.

Convention Centers

Tim McGuinness has been named vice president of sales and convention center expansion at NYC & Co. He will manage and lead a sales program for New York City's convention business, in preparation for the impending expansion of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Most recently, McGuinness was vice president of Reed Exhibitions North America.

The Orange County Convention Center has named Michael Tuttle director of exhibit services. Tuttle previously held the same position with the Natl. Retail Federation and managed exhibit services for the Natl. Assn. of Broadcasters.

Expomedia Group has appointed Michael Stift commercial director for the Expocentres venues in Europe and Russia. Stift was previously CEO of Reed Exhibitions' Austrian operation.

Convention & Visitors Bureaus

Roy Benear, former assistant vice president of sales for the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau, has been named vice president of convention sales for the Denver Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau. Benear will supervise the bureau's 15-person convention sales force as well as the convention services and housing departments.

Sally Forrest has joined the Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau as director of national accounts. Forrest, who will handle Phoenix Civic Plaza convention center accounts, spent 16 years at the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Exhibit Design

Pinnacle Exhibits has hired the following senior staff for its Southern California office:

  • Peter Gallagher, General Manager, formerly vice president of design at Exhibit Dynamics
  • Director of Operations Russell Hoverson, former vice president of manufacturing at Exhibitgroup/Giltspur's L.A. office
  • Warehouse Manager Greg Kieser, also formerly of Exhibitgroup/Giltspur
General Contractors

Arata Expositions has hired Dave Trybus as general manager of its Maryland office. Prior to joining Arata, Trybus was a project manager for a national pool and spa contractor.

Mark Salesses has joined the Orlando-based AGS Expo as executive vice president of national sales. Salesses, who previously held the same position with The Expo Group, will be located in Northern Virginia.

Show Management

Advanstar has hired Michelle Leberfeld as director of events for its Pharmaceutical and Science Group. Leberfeld, who has launched events in a variety of markets, will be based in the New York office.

Hanley Wood Exhibitions has made the following staff changes:

  • Lindsay Roberts has been promoted to associate show manager of the JLC LIVE Residential Construction shows. Roberts was most recently operations manager of the Intl. Pool & Spa Expo and A|E|C SYSTEMS.
  • Kathy Ruff has joined the company as operations manager of the Intl. Pool & Spa Expo and the Backyard Living Expo.
  • Bonnie King has been hired as conference manager of the Intl. Roofing Expo.
  • Carol Wilkins has joined the company as conference manager of the Surfaces Expo.
  • Rana Cham-Schultz has been named operations coordinator of the JLC LIVE Residential Construction Shows.
Show Services

Elizabeth Currie has joined J. Spargo & Associates as an exposition operations manager. Currie most recently served as an associate vice president of the San Diego Convention Center.

Showtime Enterprises has hired Ted Lorras as its vice president of retail operations. Lorras was previously with Diam Intl./Pop Displays.
