Expomedia, De Telegraaf Venture Expands

Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 8/2/2004

Expomedia Group and De Telegraaf Groep will organize their joint venture activities under the banner of TE2 Telegraaf Expomedia Events.

As part of the firms' expanded joint venture, De Telegraaf Groep will help Expomedia develop its 2,700 square meter event venue in Amsterdam. TE2 will not only cover the consumer events launched by the two companies, but also tradeshows previously run under the Intl. Exhibition Partners banner.

Two consumer shows — the Food and Drink Show and the Country Living Fair — are in the 2004 lineup, with further launches planned for next year. TE2 plans six trade events for 2004 and 2005.

Besides the EXPO XXI Amsterdam Intl. Expocongress-centre now under construction and expected to open next May, the expanded joint venture will cover a leased congress center in Amsterdam's Zuidas district.

The London-based Expomedia develops and manages exhibition facilities, as well as providing event-management services through its CEE Exhibitions division. The company currently operates in Amsterdam; Budapest, Hungary; Cologne, Germany; Moscow; New Delhi; and Warsaw and Katowice, Poland.

In addition to the Amsterdam venue, Expomedia is working on new venues in Cologne, New Delhi and Moscow.

De Telegraaf Group is the owner of Dutch newspapers and magazines, and also holds interests in television companies.
