SmithBucklin, CEIR Explain Partnership
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 8/9/2004
Dear Editor:
Re: "One Industry, Under What?" (May 17, 2004)
Due to some incorrect and misleading statements, we are writing to provide some greater insight into the recent selection of SmithBucklin by the Center for Exhibition Industry Research as its full-service management firm.
CEIR's leadership recently completed a diligent and rigorous evaluation of management options. The goal was to find the best solution to help the organization achieve sustained, long-term growth, as well as enhance its ability to provide value to the constituencies it serves — stakeholders of the exhibition industry. While several viable options were seriously and thoughtfully considered by CEIR leaders, the selection of SmithBucklin was based upon the company's track record and proven ability to provide the resources, experience and knowledge required to help CEIR achieve these goals.
We are both thrilled about the outcome. SmithBucklin has a tremendous commitment to — and interest in — credible, objective research serving the exhibition and convention industry. And because SmithBucklin provides management services to client organizations representing over 40 tradeshows (of which five are included in the Tradeshow Week 200), it has a large stake and vested interest in the industry's long-term growth, vitality and success.
