Registration Firm Joins Crowded Field
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 8/16/2004
A registration provider that previously concentrated on banquets and events has created a new company to go after the tradeshow business.
EventRebels.com, based in Ellicott City, Md., has formed Epsilon Registration to capture a piece of the conference and tradeshow market, where it has already made some inroads.
Charles Karow, president of the newly formed company (and formerly vice president and COO of EventRebels), said, "We've done town hall-type meetings for 5,000 people, inaugural balls, large-scale events like that. Yet they're not the same as tradeshows and conferences."
Karow said what would distinguish Epsilon from an already crowded registration provider field is the ability to offer on-site systems without the need for Internet access, a benefit he said would be particularly helpful for small to medium-sized shows.
EventRebels will continue to operate registration systems primarily for banquets and events under the leadership of President and CEO K.C. Hopson.
