EACA Document Outlines Service Contractor Practices
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 11/24/2003
The Exhibition Services & Contractors Assn. and the Exhibitor Appointed Contractor Assn. have adopted new guidelines for what it considers appropriate practices for general service contractors. The groups plan to use the EACA Carrier Standards Document to settle exhibitor disputes with general contractors. Jim Wurm, executive director of EACA, said his group felt the need to put the document together because "the handling and disposal of freight has been contentious to a variety of people."
The document was two years in the making, with both associations offering input to document author and EACA Director David Mihalik, president of EliteXPO Cargo Systems. "It's a lengthy process," Wurm said.
Going forward, all of EACA's members have agreed to voluntarily comply with the standards.
