Expomedia Plans Business Expansion
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 9/20/2004
London-based facility and exhibition management company Expomedia Group has announced two new endeavors: the construction of three event centers in Germany and a beauty show launch by its Indian subsidiary.
The new facilities are part of the company's EXPO XXI Intl. Expocentres chain of exhibition, conference and event centers, which already includes two facilities in Poland and one each in India, Russia, the Netherlands and Hungary.
The first of the three facilities will open in Cologne in February. The facility will cover 6,688 square meters (71,989 square feet). Venues in Frankfurt and Berlin are to follow in 2006 and 2007, respectively.
The hope is that the new centers will attract additional tradeshow business to Germany, said Christoph Renevier, managing director of the Expocenter in Cologne. "Our centers will be generators for new, efficient and innovative projects, and will also attract organizations from outside Germany. By building these centers, we close the gap between smaller event-staging capacities in hotels and the large-sized expo centers."
Also, Expomedia Group subsidiary India Exhibition Management and U.K.-based Trades Exhibitions are jointly launching Professional Beauty India in New Delhi in fall 2005.
The event is an addition to Trades Exhibitions' Professional Beauty shows in London; Manchester, U.K.; Dublin, Ireland; and Johannesburg, South Africa. Together the shows annually attract more than 100,000 attendees.
Mark Moloney, managing director for Trades Exhibitions, said, "I am confident that by combining the skills of Trades Exhibitions and IEM, we can provide the beauty industry with the platform it needs to develop the full potential of the Indian market."
According to Expomedia, the beauty market in India is estimated to be worth around $600 million annually.
