Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 10/4/2004

Convention & Visitors Bureaus

The Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau recently promoted two staff members:

  • Carol Motley was named director of the Chicago bureau's eastern U.S. regional office. She was previously the office's director of sales for all national accounts.
  • Mark Tester was named vice president of convention sales. Tester was most recently assistant vice president of sales.

The Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau has named Patrick Lynn director of national accounts for the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia markets.

The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau recently named two new national sales managers as additions to its staff:

  • Tina Carter joins the bureau's Washington, D.C.-based hotel meetings sales division. Carter last worked in a similar position for the Associated Luxury Hotels chain.
  • Jennifer Dwyer will head the bureau's new Pittsburgh regional sales office. She most recently served as associate director of sales for the Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh.

The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission has made three new hires:

  • Julie Henneberry and Kelly Hill are the bureau's new executive sales managers.
  • Lisa Moore joins the staff as the commission's director of national accounts.

Karen Clarkson has been promoted to North America marketing manager for VisitScotland's business tourism unit. Clarkson recently worked as a New York-based senior marketing executive for VisitBritain.

Exhibit Services

Access TCA Atlanta has named Laurie Nichols senior designer. She most recently held the same position at Elite Exhibits.

Show Management

Bill Cooke joined VNU Expositions as group president for its performance, hospitality fesign, photography, incentive and military group. Cooke spent eight years as executive vice president of Advanstar Communications, where he created and managed the company's marketing services division.

 

Craig Hitchcock has assumed command of Reed Business Information's Home Entertainment Group of magazines, which includes Tradeshow Week, as vice president, group publisher and publisher of Video Business. Over the past four years, as vice president and publishing director, Hitchcock has led the Variety Group sales team.

Rose Einstein, who had oversight of the Home Entertainment Group for the last six years, will step into Hitchcock's place as vice president and publishing director for the Variety Group. Einstein began her career at Variety.

At the same time, Charlie Koones, Variety Group executive vice president and publisher, has been given additional responsibilities for the Home Entertainment Group, which has become part of the expanding Variety Group portfolio.
