WOC Mexico Marks Successful Launch
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 10/4/2004
World of Concrete Mexico had a strong debut in Mexico City June 16–18, according to organizers Hanley Wood Exhibitions, E. J. Krause de Mexico and the Mexican Institute of Cement and Concrete. The event, a brand extension of the 30-year-old U.S. World of Concrete, featured machinery, products and equipment for the industry.
The exhibition reportedly attracted more than 5,700 attendees and nearly 200 exhibitors from Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Show director Tom Cindric said World of Concrete Mexico spanned more than 3,800 square meters (41,000 square feet) and was profitable for both EJK and Hanley Wood.
"That doesn't happen often on a launch," he said. "We plan to return to Mexico next year for the second annual World of Concrete Mexico."
The 2005 show will be held June 15–17, again at the Banamex Center in Mexico City.
The 2004 event featured an educational program of 27 sessions, presented by experts from Japan, Mexico and the United States.
"From the very first visitor at our booth, we were overwhelmed with a large number of outstanding prospects that had a genuine interest in buying or distributing Marshalltown Co. tools," said the company's international sales manager, David Husson. "We've already reserved booth space for next year's event and were happy to commit."
Cindric noted that exhibitors have already purchased half of next year's available space.
