Nimlok Establishes Graphic Design Division

Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 10/11/2004

Exhibit builder Nimlok has begun offering graphic design services through a new subsidiary.

Nimlok Graphic Design was launched in Chicago; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Miami; New York; Philadelphia; and Orange County, Calif.

The subsidiary will employ in-house designers to create graphics for the booths Nimlok is contracted to build, according to company President Simon Perutz. If all goes well, the graphics service will be expanded nationally and internationally.

Since Nimlok already produces graphics for the exhibits it creates, designing the graphics was a logical step. Perutz said he hopes this will lead Nimlok to design collateral material and other elements for exhibitors.

Creating the graphics from start to finish will enable the subsidiary to better control the design process, improve efficiencies and save time. "With the creation of Nimlok Graphic Design, we're adding a significant new service for customers who are currently buying their exhibit graphic needs from a variety of vendors," Perutz said.

He said the two-employee division could potentially generate $2 million to $3 million in annual revenue. The 33-year-old Nimlok employs 475 people worldwide.

Perutz added that, aside from hiring one person, the launch didn't require a significant capital outlay. "It took talent rather than cash," he said.
