Less-than-truckload carrier Yellow (YELL: NASD) beat expectations with higher reported third-quarter earnings and an upbeat growth forecast, but its shares still sank. The decline was blamed on concerns about rising fuel costs, even though Yellow imposes a fuel surcharge on customers. Yellow merged with fellow LTL carrier Roadway Express last December.
