UFI, the Global Assn. of the Exhibition Industry, reported that it drew 374 participants from 54 countries to its 71st Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, Nov. 24–27. That's 14 percent more than last year's Congress in Cairo, Egypt, which was attended by 327 participants from 51 countries. The 2005 UFI congress will be held a month earlier than usual, Oct. 19–21, in Moscow.
With 32,173 professional attendees visiting nearly 450,000 net square feet of exhibits, the Radiological Society of North America Scientific Assembly & Annual Meeting, No. 38 on the most recent Tradeshow Week 200, drew 465 more attendees to Chicago's McCormick Place in 2004 than in 2003, according to the RSNA. The Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau took partial credit, saying its enhanced marketing efforts helped boost attendance.
