Service Contractor Welcomes New Name
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 1/17/2005
Full-service tradeshow contractor AGS Expo Plus has changed its name to ExpoPlus.
The company was created in 2001 when Communications Plus, a marketing services company based in New York, bought the Atlanta flagship office of AGS Expo. A licensing agreement with AGS Expo allowed the newly formed company to use the name AGS Expo Plus for five years as it built its business.
But there was some confusion in the marketplace between Orlando-based AGS Expo and the new AGS Expo Plus. Dropping the AGS part of the name and re-branding the company as ExpoPlus should eliminate any misunderstandings among current and potential clients, said Bill Gunby, ExpoPlus general manager.
The change came in the midst of significant growth, including the recent opening of an office in Savannah, Ga., to support the company's other offices in New York; Tampa, Fla.; and Atlanta. The Atlanta facility has expanded over the years to more than 130,000 square feet of office and warehouse space and the business has grown to over 100 employees, producing more than 100 events across the country each year. ExpoPlus clients include the Natl. Education Assn., AFCOM, Natl. Retail Federation and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
