- E.J. Krause was actually pleased to report that attendance at its Oct. 26–30 PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2004 in Beijing was down 14 percent to 300,000, compared with 350,000 in 2002. Additions like an 8-foot security fence, ticket entry turnstiles and improved registration procedures helped weed out unwanted public attendees and tire kickers visiting the 700 exhibitors at the 603,000 square show.
- According to Intl. Pool & Spa Expo owner and manager Hanley Wood Exhibitions, the show drew 15,733 attendees to the Las Vegas Convention Center last Nov. 30–Dec. 3, up 20 percent from 13,156 in 2003. The showfloor also grew, by 10 percent, with 2,578 exhibits occupying 257,808 net sq. ft. Senior Show Director Rick McConnell credited innovative products and the support of the Assn. of Pool & Spa Professionals.
