Attendance at the ASI Show! Orlando Jan. 3–5 at the Orange County Convention Center was off slightly compared with last year, slipping 8 percent from 5,000 to 4,600, according to initial counts. On the upside, the number of exhibitors reportedly grew from 841 to 966, and net square footage from 130,300 to 146,500. The show filled all seats at its educational sessions.

Messe Frankfurt and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, co-organizers of the Hong Kong Intl. Stationery Fair, reported a 29-percent increase in buyers Jan. 11–15 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The 2005 show drew 15,856 buyers, compared with 12,321 in 2004. The exhibition also grew, with 265 exhibiting companies filling 61,978 gross sq. ft., compared with 221 exhibitors in 53,389 sq. ft. last year. Even better, organizers said, about half of attendees came from overseas, one-third more than last year.
