Jeep Exhibit at Car Show Declared a Hit
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 2/14/2005
The Chrysler Group's Jeep Division came away from the Trade Show Exhibitors Assn.'s 2004 Focus Awards as the winner in two categories. Jeep's interactive exhibit won awards for both best environment and best face-to-face experience. The exhibit allowed attendees at the New York Intl. Auto Show at New York's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center to take a test drive around a rough-and-ready course built into Chrysler's 30,000 square foot exhibit.
Other grand award winners were:
- Matrex Exhibits, Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Assn. Annual Meeting & Exhibition (Pre-event)
- Wachovia, Sibos (Integrated solution)
Merit awards went to:
- Koch-Cellulose, Golf Course Superintendents Assn. of America (Pre-event)
- DaimlerChrysler, North American Intl. Auto Show (Environment)
- Swissray Intl., Radiological Society of North America Scientific Assembly & Annual Meeting (Face-to-face experience)
- H.B. Stubbs, HCEA Annual Meeting & Exhibition (Integrated solution)
TSEA will feature Focus Award winners on its Web site and in its electronic newsletter. Winners will also be recognized during TS2 — The Trade Show About Trade Shows in mid-July.
After a one-year hiatus, TSEA's awards program returned in 2004. This year and in the future, awards recognize elements of the entire exhibiting process: before, during and after the show.
"In recent years, there's been a shift away from a focus only on the architecture of exhibit booths and a placing of emphasis on the marketing strategy behind events," said Alan Cordial, the 2004 Focus Awards co-chairman and a principal with Calan Communications. "We wanted to reconstitute the awards to recognize that overall marketing excellence."
Tradeshow Week Editor in Chief Michael Hart was a member of the judging panel.
