According to producer Home Entertainment Events, the 2005 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo Jan. 6–9 drew 13,000 attendees to visit 301 exhibiting companies covering 71,000 net square feet of exhibit space at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. The show saw increases in every measure over 2004, when it drew 8,000 attendees to see 252 exhibitors filling 61,000 net sq. ft.

SIGEP — Rimini Fiera's exhibition of artisan ice cream, confectionery and bakery production held Jan. 21–25 — saw an 8.8-percent increase in professional attendance, drawing 96,377 visitors, compared with 88,582 in 2004. The exhibition was also larger, growing from 750 exhibitors occupying 882,641 net sq. ft. last year to 800 exhibitors occupying 968,752 net sq. ft. this year. Organizers attributed the surge to a strong conference program and an increased focus on international participation.
