Expomedia Group has signed a partnership agreement with Expo-Volga, an exhibition organizer in the Samara region of Russia, to launch shows at the Expo-Volga Exhibition Centre in the city of Samara. The city is the capital of the industrial region in eastern Russia with a population of about 3 million.
Under the agreement, the new partnership, called Expo-Volga EMG, will launch a series of exhibitions later this year in sectors where Expomedia has a presence, such as telecommunications, transportation and construction.
Expomedia is leasing the 18-year-old, 8,600 square meter (92,500 square foot) Expo-Volga Exhibition Centre, according to Constantine Bridgeman, managing director of Expomedia's exhibition organizing division, Central European Exhibitions. He added that more details on the show launches would be available later this month.
Expo-Volga, in business in Samara since 1986, organizes more than 30 exhibitions each year. London—based Expomedia develops and manages a chain of exhibition and conference centers, EXPO XXI Intl. Expocentres, across Europe and Asia. It also provides event-organizing services to international companies wishing to enter those markets.
Mark Shashoua, Expomedia CEO, said that as Russia continues to expand economically and commercially, opportunities will arise in regions beyond Moscow and St. Petersburg.
