U.K.-based Tarsus Group is launching a show to introduce German buyers to promotional products made in Asia and Eastern Europe. Pro-dimex is scheduled to debut at Germany's Expocentre Cologne Jan. 19–21.
Tarsus estimates the European market for promotional products to be about $3 billion ($3.8 billion) and expects it to continue to grow. Pro-dimex will give primarily Chinese and Eastern European suppliers an opportunity to deal directly with European buyers.
"We are in a very fortunate position with pro-dimex, as our team in Germany is already well-established in the industry," said Cordelia Hime, spokesperson for the Tarsus Group.
Further, she noted, German control of the market is key to this exhibition, because "outsiders do have difficulties exhibiting in Germany, but we are specifically arranging for the Chinese and Eastern Europeans to have the opportunity to exhibit."
The show is expected to span about 3,000 square meters (32,300 square feet) with about 150 exhibitors and 4,000 to 5,000 visitors. The company has opened a new office in Duesseldorf to organize pro-dimex.
