Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 5/23/2005

George Little Management's expanded New York Home Textiles Show failed to draw a higher numbers of buyers to New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center April 8–11. Although the show launched a new contemporary division, LifeStyles, the overall event pulled 5,300 buyers, a decrease of 11 percent from the 5,900 at last year's show. The total number of exhibitors, however, was up from 327 in March 2004 to 377 this spring.

Diversified Business Communications reported a successful launch of its Expo Comida Latina Texas April 24–25 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio. The inaugural mid-country version of the show, which already takes place in Los Angeles and New York, attracted 2,262 total attendees to visit 23,150 net square feet of exhibits, according to Diversified. Next year's show is scheduled April 23–24 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.
