The Few, The Fast, The 50 - Schedule
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 8/22/2005
The best in the tradeshow industry are headed for Las Vegas. Winners of the third annual Tradeshow Week Fastest 50 have been announced, and the list demonstrates the industry's diversity.
The 50 fastest-growing shows in the United States and Canada will be honored during a festive weekend planned Oct. 28–30 in Las Vegas. At a gala black-tie dinner at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino on Saturday, Oct. 29, special awards will be given to the fastest-growing show overall as well as those that grew fastest in the trade, association and consumer show sectors.
The TSW Fastest 50 recognizes tradeshows and consumer shows that have demonstrated significant growth in net square footage from 2002 to 2004. A record number of shows was nominated this year and almost half of those being honored are new to the list.
"The diverse group of winning shows demonstrates the continued growth and opportunity in the industry," said Tradeshow Week Publisher Adam Schaffer.
The weekend gala in Las Vegas, hosted by the Venetian and the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, begins Friday, Oct. 28 and continues Saturday night when NBC's "Today" show Travel Editor Peter Greenberg will reprise his role as master of ceremonies at the black-tie dinner and awards ceremony at the Venetian. The weekend will conclude with a reception at the Cili Restaurant & Bar during which attendees will have an opportunity to meet and talk with Tradeshow Week editors.
Founding sponsor The Expo Group will handle all plans for the event. Other sponsors include Production Transport, Wyndham Jade, Conferon Global Services, Advanced Tradeshow Technology, Momentum Event Networks, Hargrove, Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Bali Hai Golf Club, AWG Group, American Airlines and MRH Associates.
