Registration Roundup

Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 10/10/2005

The Intl. Assn. of Amusement Parks and Attractions gained exhibitors but lost some attendees at its IAAPA Asian Expo, July 13–15 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. A total of 2,500 professionals attended the show, compared with 2,700 last year, a decrease of 7 percent. Still, the exhibition grew from 127 exhibiting companies spanning 21,420 net sq. ft. in 2004 to 138 exhibitors filling 22,830 net sq. ft. in 2005.

Although the number of exhibitors was down, total attendance was up at 2005 SINOCES, the Consumer Electronics Assn.'s international consumer electronics show, held July 1–4 at the Qingdao Intl. Convention Center in Qingdao, China. CEA reported that the show attracted 64,300 attendees (not including exhibitors, but including consumers attending on public days), 5 percent more than last year. The number of exhibiting firms dropped slightly, from 321 in 2004 to 304 in 2005.
