PCMA Award Winners Announced

The Professional Convention Management Assn. on Jan. 8 gave its 2005 Achievement Awards to four PCMA members and two organizations. The winners were recognized at a luncheon at Philadelphia's Pennsylvania Convention Center during the association's 50th annual meeting.
Awards were presented to members from several industry sectors:
- Robert J. Donovan, vice president of meetings and travel services, American Hospital Assn. (Distinguished Member Award)
- Brian Miller, assistant professor for the Department of Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Management at the University of Delaware (Educator of the Year Award)
- Philomena Petro, vice president of convention services, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (Distinguished Convention Service Manager Award)
- Bob Hancock, director of national accounts, Holiday Inn Atlanta Downtown (Outstanding Service to a Chapter Award).
PCMA annually bestows its Spirit Award on two organizations that have demonstrated strong enthusiasm while providing excellent service to the meetings industry. The winners this year were the Hilton San Francisco and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
