AUMA CEO Kresse Leaving Position
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 1/16/2006
Hermann Kresse is resigning as CEO of AUMA, the Assn. of the German Trade Fair Industry, after 10 years to take a job in the private sector.
Who will succeed Kresse and how the search for his replacement will proceed have yet to be determined, according to Harald Kötter, head of AUMA's division of public relations.
Kresse is leaving AUMA, effective Jan. 31, to become a senior partner in a law firm specializing in public affairs and media and trade fair law. In cooperation with AUMA, he will publish a handbook on trade fair law to be released later this year.
AUMA Chairman Thomas H. Hagen noted that Kresse created an atmosphere for the successful development of German trade fairs both in Germany and abroad.
Kresse began as CEO of AUMA in 1996, when the organization was based in Cologne, Germany. Before that, he held various management positions with the television broadcasting firm RTL. He has been a member of the AUMA board of directors since 1997. In 2001, under his management, AUMA relocated to Berlin.
