Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 1/23/2006

New York-based Continental Exhibitions reported that its Natl. Ergonomics Conference and Exposition, Nov. 29–Dec. 1 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, saw a 9-percent increase in attendance, growing from 1,253 attendees in 2004 to 1,370 in 2005. Exhibiting companies rose from 103 last year to 121 this year, and net square feet of paid exhibit space from 15,100 to 17,700 in the same period.

Hurricane Wilma put a damper on attendance at Intl. Pool & Spa Expo this year, arriving two weeks before the Hanley Wood show Nov. 1–3 at Orlando's Orange County Convention Center. Despite the addition of Backyard Living Expo, the two-time TSW Fastest 50 winner drew only 13,742 professional attendees, down 13 percent from last year's 15,733. The exhibition, however, continued to grow, from 257,808 sq. ft. last year to 262,150 sq. ft. this year.
