TSEA Launches Exclusive Exhibitor Insurance Programs

Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 3/6/2006

The Trade Show Exhibitors Assn., in collaboration with John Buttine, is offering two insurance programs specifically tailored to tradeshow exhibitors.

Both are designed to mitigate problems exhibitors may encounter at tradeshows, according to TSEA President Stephen Schuldenfrei, and meet the requirements of most typical booth space sales agreements.

Schuldenfrei said TSEA's event cancellation product and one offered by Acordia are probably the only two available to tradeshow exhibitors.

Among features of TSEA's new policies are:

  • No deductibles
  • Recouping of costs associated with event cancellation, postponement, interruption or relocation
  • Coverage of losses if an exhibitor is unable to open or keep open a booth due to physical loss and/or damage
  • Coverage, within limits, due to losses caused by acts of terrorism

Schuldenfrei said TSEA introduced the program because it wanted to offer an alternative to organizers' insurance.
