Global Spectrum has entered into negotiations with the city of Cincinnati for a three-year contract to manage the maintenance, security, event coordination management, and event marketing and sales of Cinergy Center (which is being renamed Duke Energy Center). The Philadelphia-based Global Spectrum could assume management responsibilities from the city by May. The center plans to unveil its $160-million renovation and expansion this summer.
The Natl. Rifle Assn. will hold its 138th NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits May 15–17, 2009, at the Phoenix Convention Center. The group expects to attract 55,000 to 65,000 NRA members, hunters and gun owners to the PCC, which is slated to expand to 643,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space by January 2009. The show this year will take place May 19–23 at Milwaukee's Midwest Airlines Center, and will travel to St. Louis and Louisville, Ky., in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
