Assn. of Television Program Executives, Jan. 24–26 at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, saw a 1.2-percent decrease in professional attendees, from 5,178 in 2005 to 5,118 this year. Overall attendance figures were up for the annual show as it attracted 7,715 total attendees (including exhibitors), up 0.4 percent over 2005. The number of buyers at the SHOT Show, held Feb. 9–12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, decreased to 24,366, 1.2 percent less than its 24,670 buyers in 2005. Overall, the show attracted 40,892 total attendees, 8.4 percent more than in 2005 (37,730). The 616,300 sq. ft. showfloor had more than 1,846 exhibiting companies.
