With its Philadelphia show launch, The ASI Show! added to existing versions in Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas and Orlando. Held May 23–25 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the event drew 1,737 professional attendees, according to registration firm ARsystems Intl. Organizers said they achieved their goals for the launch, drawing 265 exhibitors to fill 36,500 net square feet of exhibit space.
The World Educational Congress for Laundering and Drycleaning saw a 16-percent decline in attendance at its biennial show. Clean '05 drew 13,951 professional attendees (including exhibit personnel), down from 16,526 in 2003, when the show took place in Las Vegas. Organizers said its Las Vegas shows typically draw higher crowds than others. Still, Orlando reported that the 228,850 net sq. ft. show at the Orange County Convention Center made a $17.4 million impact on the local economy.
