Rachelle Crum -- Tradeshow Week, 6/12/2006

The third Carbon Expo, which took place May 10–12 at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, attracted 2,050 attendees from 94 countries, up 37 percent from 2005, when it drew 1,500 attendees from 87 countries. The showfloor featured 187 exhibitors from 50 countries, an increase of approximately 50 percent over 2005. The organizers — the World Bank, Intl. Emissions Trading Assn. and Koelnmesse — will launch Carbon Expo Asia, Oct. 26–27 in Beijing.

The first Label Summit Japan welcomed 650 visitors April 25–26 at the Tokyo Intl. Forum. Label Shimbun and the Japan Federation of Label Printing Industries supported the show, organized by Tarsus Group, which held Label Summits earlier this year in Mexico City and Mumbai, India. Tarsus will produce others later this year in Bangkok, Thailand, and Guangzhou, China. It will host Smart Label Summit Americas in Miami June 27–28.
