Rachelle Crum -- Tradeshow Week, 6/26/2006

The inaugural Conexpo Asia, May 15–18 at the China Natl. Agricultural Exhibition Center in Beijing, drew more than 13,100 visitors to visit 192 exhibitors on a 173,288 net sq. ft. showfloor. Conexpo Asia is produced by the Assn. of Equipment Manufacturers, in partnership with the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, Transport Technology Exchange Center of the Ministry of Communications, and E.J. Krause & Associates.

IMEX, the meetings and incentive travel show, this year had its highest visitor numbers ever. The April 17–19 show at Messe Frankfurt, Germany, attracted approximately 7,600 total visitors, including more than 3,400 hosted buyers. This represents a 6.6-percent increase over 2005, when the show drew 7,130 total visitors. Some buyers new to IMEX traveled from markets as diverse as Iceland, Libya and Honduras.
