Chinese Textile and Apparel Trade Fair Debuts in Karlsruhe, Germany

The European debut of China Textile and Apparel Trade Fair will take place Nov. 5–7 in Karlsruhe, Germany.
The China Council for the Promotion of Intl. Trade, which each year puts on more than 10 textile fairs in China and around the world, is organizing the fabric and fashion show. The China Natl. Garment Assn. and Karlsruher Messe und Kongress are co-organizers.
The show is a spinoff of the 6-year-old New York apparel trade fair produced by the council, along with Specialty Trade Shows and Youthful U.S.A.
Project manager Claudia Notzelmann said the show will include seminars and is expected to draw 150 Chinese exhibitors and span 6,000 square meters (64,500 square feet). Exhibitors will display apparel and textiles for buyers from large European apparel retailers, chain-store operator and textile manufacturers seeking new partners.
Karlsruhe's central location put it ahead of other German venues, said Gerald Bose, a spokesman for the messe. The region's economic strength, Karlsruhe's links to transportation and communication networks, and its proximity to the Chinese export markets of France, Austria, and Switzerland were also key factors influencing the final decision.
