Aeo Announces Annual Awards

IMEX 2005 took the prize for tradeshow of the year at the assn. of exhibition organisers' annual Aeo Excellence Awards, held June 30 at London's Alexandra Palace.
The event honored several other high achievers in the U.K. exhibitions industry:
- Best tradeshow launch: Intl. Business Events' Futurebuild — Ecobuild — Regenrex
- Best consumer show launch: Media 10's Grand Designs Live 2005
- Consumer show of the year: Grand Designs Live 2005
- Best venue facilities development and innovation: Amsterdam RAI
- Environmental sustainability award: Earls Court & Olympia
- Supplier of the year: ASP
- Innovation of the year: ASP's Eventex Personalized Show Planner
- Outstanding contribution to the industry: Reed Exhibitions Chairman Mike Rusbridge
Awards were also presented in categories such as contracting, booth design and logistics. The competing shows presented measurable results against aeo judging criteria, according to association officials.
Comedian Marcus Brigstocke hosted the event, which attracted 1,290 exhibition organizers, event venue operators and exhibition contractors.
