German-Italian Pact Formalized
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 8/7/2006
Hannover Fairs Intl. (Deutsche Messe) and Fiera Milano are going into business together to organize exhibitions in the emerging markets of Brazil, China, India and Russia. The two major European trade-show organizers have signed a letter of intent that should be formalized, after approval by their respective boards, by Nov. 15.
The collaboration is expected to allow Fiera Milano, based in Milan, Italy, to develop new exhibitions in China, making use of the organizational infrastructure Hannover has in place there, and to bring more exhibitors to the shows the German company already has in the country. Hannover Fairs has been active in China since the end of the 1990s, having exported many of its major German brands there.
Both parties already are active in Russia, India and Brazil, by organizing national pavilions at trade fairs, consulting on projects for trade centers or marketing cooperatively with local trade fair organizers, said Hannover Fairs Intl. Senior Vice President Wolfgang Lenarz. Nevertheless, they plan further collaboration on a number of projects in those countries.
