Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 9/18/2006
Several new shows have been announced around the world:
- CMP Technology's Dr. Dobb's software division will launch two shows next year for software development professionals.
The Software Development Best Practices Conference & Expo Moscow is scheduled April 2–3 at the Radisson SAS in Moscow. It will be produced in partnership with RUSSOFT, a Russian association of software developers and development companies. CMP organizers expect about 20 to 25 exhibitors and 300 attendees.
Dr. Dobb's Software Development Best Practices Conference & Expo India will debut in Hyderabad on Jan. 16 and then travel to Chennai and Bangalore, respectively, Jan. 17 and 18. About eight to 10 exhibitors and 225 attendees are expected in each city. - Interior Lifestyle China, for household products and accessories, will debut at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre, Sept. 13–16, 2007.
Messe Frankfurt Exhibitions and United Asia Intl. Exhibitions will organize the event.
Messe Frankfurt projects the event will span 8,900 gross square meters (96,000 square feet) and attract close to 200 exhibiting companies and 10,000 attendees. - Facilities Management Africa 2006 will debut Oct. 24–26 at the Gallagher Estate in Midrand, South Africa. The show, supported by the South African Facilities Management Assn., will focus on facility management, workplace management, health and safety, and security.
Bette McNaugton, event director for Fair Consultants, said the changing nature of the South African workplace created the need for an event for the facility management and business services sector. She said FM Africa would draw on regional and worldwide expertise to give attendees insight into different aspects of facilities management, still an emerging concept in Africa. - The Gulf Iraqi Expo will debut in Manama, Bahrain, March 24–26, 2007. GIX, the first tradeshow to be organized by the Iraqi government outside Iraq, will focus on national reconstruction efforts. The Iraqi Ministry of Trade and Jordan-based I-vision for Event & Media will manage it.
The show is expected to attract more than 12,000 attendees from Iraq and the Gulf Region, including about 300 decision makers from the Iraqi government.
GIX aims to enable the Iraqi government and companies to deal directly with Gulf firms, rather than going through intermediaries.
