AMT — the Assn. for Manufacturing Technology's Intl. Manufacturing Technology Show 2006 attracted more than 91,000 attendees to Chicago's McCormick Place Sept. 6–13. The final tally represents a 6-percent increase over 2004, when 86,232 people attended the biennial show. IMTS also featured more than 1,288 exhibitors on a 1.1 million sq. ft. showfloor. IMTS shifts to a new schedule in 2008, becoming a six-day event and starting one week after Labor Day, Sept. 8–13, expanding to include McCormick Place West, which opens in 2007.
The 13th edition of the Mondo Natura Intl. Motorhome, Caravan, Camping and Outdoor Vacation show and the second edition of the Mondo Natura Luoghi show, dedicated to new vacation tourists, held at Italy's Rimini Expo Centre Sept. 9–17, attracted 119,351 visitors, an 11.4-percent increase over the 2005 edition, which attracted 107,138 visitors. The number of foreign visitors increased by 22 percent. The two shows, staged simultaneously, occupied the two new halls at Rimini Fiera, which were inaugurated with the two events.
