IAEM Names 2006 Award Winners

Paul Cunniffe of GES Exposition Services and Bob Kelley of Meeting Consultants will receive the Distinguished Service Award when the Intl. Assn. for Exhibition Management passes out its 2006 individual awards during the Nov. 28 opening session of Expo! Expo! IAEM Annual Meeting & Exhibition in San Diego.
Cunniffe is director of national accounts for GES, and Kelley is director of business development for Meeting Consultants.
Cunniffe said he was honored and humbled. "The industry has afforded me and my family a good life," he said. "I have always been very mindful of that and determined to be involved in our industry."
The Merit Award, for those who have benefited IAEM at the local chapter level, went to Maria Wilcox, director of hotel and convention relations for NYC & Co. Bliss Beasley, executive vice president of American Exhibition Services, and Carrie Freeman Parsons, vice president of marketing for Freeman, won Outstanding Achievement in Industry Leadership Awards.
Winning the Outstanding Achievement in Innovation in Business Solutions Award were the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto; its general manager, Arlene Campbell; and director of sales and marketing, Laura Purdy. Dan Cole, vice president of sales and business development for the Consumer Electronics Assn., won the Outstanding Achievement in Marketing and Sales, Show Management Award.
The 2006 Show Manager Rookie of the Year is Bonnie King, conference manager for Hanley Wood Exhibitions, and the 2006 Supplier Rookie of the Year is Debbie Baxter, president of ShowCare.
The IAEM Awards Committee and the IAEM Board of Directors selected the winners.
