Action Sports Retailer Trade Expo, held Sept. 8–10 at the San Diego Convention Center, attracted 18,000 attendees, a 3-percent increase over 2005, when there were 17,500 attendees. Last month's show featured 458 exhibitors in 154,000 sq. ft. The 2005 show offered 407 exhibitors in 146,784 sq. ft. The VNU Expositions show features manufacturers of accessories for surf, skate, swim and snow, as well as fashion apparel and footwear.

InnoTrans 2006, a trade fair for railway transport technology held Sept. 19–22 in Berlin, attracted 1,606 exhibitors from 41 countries to more than 100,000 sq. m. (1.1 million sq. ft.). There were 65,000 trade visitors from 90 countries — a 40-percent increase when compared with 2004's 46,455 — at the tradeshow, which is held every two years. About 50 percent of exhibitors and more than 40 percent of visitors were from abroad.
