Show of the Week, Jan. 29
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 1/29/2007
- Where: Dallas Convention Center (rotates)
- When: Jan. 29–31 (annual)
- Show manager: Intl. Exposition
- General service contractor: Freeman
- Who exhibits: Manufacturers of air-conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment
- Who attends: Contractors, distributors, wholesalers and facility managers
- 2006 show statistics: 410,415 net sq. ft.; 1,989 exhibiting companies; 37,292 buyers
- Position on the 2006 TSW 200: 48
- First year of show: 1930
- New this year: For the first time, expecting to sell 350,000 net sq. ft. of exhibit space, AHR Expo has booked the entire Dallas Convention Center. When last held in Dallas in 2000, it had a 315,000 net sq. ft. showfloor.
- The bottom line: Although the estimated showfloor size is reduced from last year's edition at the much bigger McCormick Place in Chicago, this should be the largest AHR Expo ever held in Dallas. Texas — and particularly the Dallas-Fort Worth area — has been somewhat immune to the downturn in the national real estate market, meaning there are likely to still be buyers looking for the latest in air-conditioning and heating systems.
