IAEE Moves eMERGE:E2 to Expo! Expo!
Staff -- Tradeshow Week, 2/19/2007
The Intl. Assn. of Exhibitions & Events has moved the launch of the eMERGE:E2 Tech Showcase from April 25 at the Washington (D.C.) Convention Center to Dec. 10, the first day of Expo! Expo! IAEE's Annual Meeting and Exhibition, at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
"Everyone sat down and decided there were a lot of benefits to having it the day before Expo! Expo!" said eMERGE Advisory Board Member Stephen Nold.
Registered annual meeting attendees will be able to go free of charge to eMERGE, which will end at 4 p.m., then head over to the opening session of the IAEE meeting starting at 5 p.m.
Nold said eMERGE sponsors were having trouble meeting procedural deadlines for the April event.
"The process was killing us," he said. "These are the guys paying the big bills to make this happen, and we didn't want to lose these guys."
The showcase's purpose is to educate technology buyers on how to select new tools that will integrate into their current systems and operations. Nold said there is likely to be a larger pool of participants because of the IAEE meeting as well.
"We just got smart and decided we needed to do something else," Nold added.
