The Jan. 13–16 ArabPlast 2007, held concurrently with Tekno/Tube Arabia 2007, posted whopping increases, according to show organizers Messe Duesseldorf and Al Fajer Information & Services. ArabPlast attracted 14,449 trade visitors, compared with 8,316 at the last staging in 2005, and 760 exhibitors, compared with 525. Erhard Wienkamp, Messe Duesseldorf division director, said, "The visitor figure documents the noticeably higher position of ArabPlast as the central trade fair for the region."
The U.S. Poultry & Egg Assn.'s 2007 Intl. Poultry Exposition, held Jan. 24–26 at the Georgia World Congress Center, posted its largest attendance in five years and a 9-percent increase over last year. The show for the poultry and egg industry, attracted 15,668 domestic and 3,977 international attendees, for a total of 19,645. In 2006, also in Atlanta, the show had 18,016 attendees. Collocated with the Intl. Feed Expo for the first time, IPE was part of the U.S. Dept. of Commerce's Intl. Buyer Program.
