Reed Exhibitions has added the Middle East to Louis Algoud's responsibilities. His title is now European and Middle East chairman. Algoud was already in charge of Reed Expositions France, Italia and Iberia (Spain and Portugal). He will be responsible for Reed's subsidiary in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Steven C. Anderson, former Natl. Restaurant Assn. president and CEO, left the association to take the same position at the National Assn. of Chain Drug Stores.
Hyatt Regency Chicago hired Jerry Gibson as vice president and managing director, and Patrick Donelly as general manager. Gibson was previously general manager, from 1997 to 1999. Donelly was regional food and beverage director from 1991 to 1995.
The Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau appointed Clorinda Holland director of convention sales at its Northeastern satellite office in New York.
The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority promoted Joe Kelley to vice president of facilities. Kelley, who currently manages the Natl. Bowling Stadium, the Reno Events Center, Wildcreek Golf Course and Northgate Golf Club, will now also oversee the Reno-Sparks Convention Center and the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center.
Aramark promoted Jim Kohler to general manager, the Las Vegas Convention Center, David Bianco to general manager of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and Alicia Flynn to general manager of the Emerald Coast Conference Center in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
Monica Lee-Mueller assumed the role of deputy managing director of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre's operating company, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management). She was formerly the company's director of business development.
The Pasadena (Calif.) Convention & Visitors Bureau appointed Monica Smith director of sales.
Roy Turner, president and founder of the Board Retailers Assn., replaced Brigitte Ulanch as director of buyer relations for Surf Expo, owned by dmg world media.
